Podcasts are unlike any other medium

The most lucrative asset, and the hardest.

When someone listens to your podcast, they form an incredibly strong relationship with you, and faster than in any other medium. That relationship is rooted in trust, and trust is the fuel a creator business runs on.

But podcasting keeps getting more competitive. The space is full of professional entertainers and networks with more resources and experience than most independent podcasters, and listeners have raised their expectations of what a good show sounds like.

You don't have the resources of NPR. You probably don't have any experience editing audio. That's OK: I didn't either.

The magic is in production

500,000 downloads in our first year.

I launched Creator Science (then called Creative Elements) in March 2020. Thanks to a strong launch, it reached 500,000 downloads in its first 12 months, and it has passed 2.4 million since.

It's a high-production show on the HubSpot Podcast Network. It won a 2022 Signal Award and has been featured on Apple Podcasts, Castbox, Stitcher and Pocket Casts. I'll show you how I began working with a podcast network before the show even launched.

  • How I produce every episode, step by step.
  • How I book guests like Seth Godin and James Clear.
  • How I launched, marketed and monetized the show.
Monthly downloads from March to August of the show's first year, climbing to about 77,000

The big idea

Your launch matters.

A lot of people will tell you to just start publishing, that your first episodes don't really matter.

I believe the launch of your show is one of your most important, marketable events. It's why Creator Science reached 500,000 downloads in its first year, and I'll show you exactly how I did it.

How it feels to take

About five hours an episode.

  • A story, not a recordingMost interviews don't sound like a story out of the box. I show you how I reorganize, cut, script, record voiceover and pull in outside audio.
  • Hire, don't become, an engineerYou won't learn audio engineering. You'll learn how to sound great anyway, and how to hire an engineer when you're ready.
  • Built for one personI'm one guy without the skills or resources of a big network, so everything here is built for a small team or a tight budget.

Interviewing

Guests who open doors.

A byproduct of making a great interview show is meeting incredible people: Seth Godin, James Clear, Codie Sanchez, Guy Raz, Hrishikesh Hirway, Ali Abdaal, Matt D'Avella, Austin Kleon, Sahil Bloom and many more.

Podcasts start relationships that open doors months or years down the line. I'll show you the exact outreach approach I use to book guests like these.
